Nathan Outteridge Wins Moth Europeans

A little over 2 weeks ago CST supported sailor Andrea Bonezzi was crowned the European Contender Champion, using CST’s HM Club mast.  Two weeks later CST spars have won yet another European regatta.

This time Australia’s Olympian and CST team member Nathan Outteridge, has beaten a strong fleet of 85 boats to become the 2010 European Moth Champion..

Sailed on Switzerland’s Lake Silvaplana, the championship was one of the closest on record. Nathan and fellow CST sailor Bora Gulari were the standouts from the rest of the fleet. Last time these two met, Bora was victorious taking the World Champion crown in USA. This year Nathan came back in a new boat sporting a prototype Elite series mast from CST, and experienced great speed improvement to win the championship by 2 points.

CST's recent results with dinghy spars continue to build upon our already well established record. Over the past eighteen months CST spars have won 8 world and 17 national championships - visit our 2010 results page to view details.

CST is developing its technology based production and creating products that are fine tuned for performance. Our latest development, CST Nano Spars™, utilises materials which to our knowledge are the highest performance carbon based products ever offered in the dinghy or yacht racing arena - materials with even higher performance parameters than those used in America's Cup and Volvo 70 craft.

On the back of our success in the dinghy market, CST is expanding its yachting range based on our already proven technology.

CST INDUSTRIAL

The demand for lighter, stronger and stiffer structures and components has led various industries to move from steel to composites, for example in machine rollers for paper, textile and plastics manufacturing equipment, as well as other applications such as Australian Navy mine-hunting and sonar equipment, covered awnings and annexe poles, movie camera and microphone booms.

CST has also supplied tubes for various aerospace applications, wind turbines and even for nuclear fuel handling systems.  With increased demand for composites in industrial applications CST expects to further grow its operations in this sector.
