As part of the new range of High Modulus carbon masts CST has just launched a brand new High Modulus carbon Moth mast. The one piece tapered mast is just 40mm outside diameter compared with 50mm for the previous version. Many competitor masts are still 55mm OD making the new mast 15mm smaller. This will offer significantly reduced windage through smaller cross-section and better leading edge profile. Weighing just 2kg with fittings the new mast is also lighter than its predecessor. More
CST are re-writing the rules for carbon spars – Carbon 2.0 – the latest generation of carbon spars are here! By using High Modulus carbon fibre CST’s new spar sections are smaller in diameter, lighter and stiffer (depending on class requirements). Currently our new High Modulus range includes the 18′ skiff, Moth and International 14. The next classes to be converted will be the Contender and Flying Dutchman with more to follow! Further details to follow.
